except that the security guard told me I could ride my bike in the museum to get from the door to the elevator (it's sort of a long way). I thought she was joking, so I asked 'are you sure?' to make sure it was really OK. She said 'yeah, as long as you don't hit anyone.'
Awesome. I always wanted to do that, but never thought I could get away with it!

indoor cycling! jammin'. next, you have to ask if you can play floor hockey there during lunch...
Actually... true story
One of my old bosses in anthro wanted to do that. I even went so far as to bring in a bunch of broken but usable sticks from my old job at the rink so that we could play. At the time they were building a massive new storage facility underground where there would have been lots of room, but it never seemed to happen. We spent the summer playing soccer outside at lunch instead. Then the boss left for a better job, and I changed to a different position.
Funny enough, I think those sticks are still stashed in the storage facility, housed with the Pacific Northwestern Native American collections (I saw them on members night not too long ago).
My main goal before I leave the museum is to ride my bike around Stanley Field Hall at least once.
